We all have sections of our garden that we are less than satisfied with, and understanding what has gone wrong can be frustrating. Instinct sends us shopping for more plants, but as we add these new treasures, the sense of dissatisfaction quickly grows—especially once the flowers fade and we’re left with a border full of nondescript leaves.
Sound familiar? In this webinar, designer Karen Chapman will explain the importance of establishing focal points in three key garden areas. You’ll learn how to use containers, structures, water features, and sculptural art—and how to frame and enhance these with interesting foliage to create a memorable vignette.
As a bonus, Karen will highlight the importance of designing with foliage first if you share your garden with deer, offering tips and insights to help you create a landscape you can be proud of—despite the wildlife.
With ideas for gardens and budgets of all sizes, you will quickly gain the confidence and knowledge to transform your own garden into a cohesive series of eye-catching scenes.
Repeating colors between flowers, foliage and glass art creates a symbiotic relationship where all are enhanced by virtue of the combination.

A contemporary black container anchors this lush border. The abundant colorful foliage ensures that occasional deer browsing will not detract from the overall scene.

In isolation, this water rill at Chanticleer is striking. When framed by foliage, it becomes magical.
