FOLIAGE AND FOCAL POINTS: IDEAS FOR GARDENS AND BUDGETS OF ALL SIZES

with Karen Chapman

Thursday, Sept 18, 2025 @ 6PM EDT*

(*Can't join us at that time? All registrants will receive the recording following the webinar.)

We all have sections of our garden that we are less than satisfied with, and understanding what has gone wrong can be frustrating. Instinct sends us shopping for more plants, but as we add these new treasures, the sense of dissatisfaction quickly grows—especially once the flowers fade and we’re left with a border full of nondescript leaves.

Sound familiar? In this webinar, designer Karen Chapman will explain the importance of establishing focal points in three key garden areas. You’ll learn how to use containers, structures, water features, and sculptural art—and how to frame and enhance these with interesting foliage to create a memorable vignette.

As a bonus, Karen will highlight the importance of designing with foliage first if you share your garden with deer, offering tips and insights to help you create a landscape you can be proud of—despite the wildlife.

With ideas for gardens and budgets of all sizes, you will quickly gain the confidence and knowledge to transform your own garden into a cohesive series of eye-catching scenes.

How Our Webinars Are Different—and Better!

  • The ability to submit your questions and comments in the Q&A
  • Show notes emailed to you the day before so you can print them out and jot down your own notes in the margins.
